My family emigrated to Australia in 1966 and we lived in the commonwealth hostel at Pennington. I was 9 years old at the time. My first school was mount carmel, just a short walk from our home on the hostel. We were lucky to get a house in Webster street, Elizabeth Fields, when we were able to leave the hostel.
My parents decided to return to England in 1969 when I was 12.
I have lots of happy memories of my time in Australia.

By: Carol Haddy15th Oct 2021 3:18PMI did my entire primary school years at Elizabeth Fields Primary School. I still have the two magazines we made in grade 7. I have a class photo from 1973 that I would like to share as well as the magazines. If I can figure out how to upload them.
